Koreas continue transport link talks

Military officials from North and South Korea have continued talks on reopening transport links closed half a century ago.

The meeting in the border village of Panmunjom -- the fourth after the landmark summit between leaders of the two countries in June -- is expected to focus on reconnecting railways and building a road between the Koreas.

The first stage is the removal of thousands of land mines from the demilitarised zone between North and South Korea.

The planned rail and road links would be the first between the countries since the Korean War fifty years ago.
