Pakistan to donate helicopters for Afghan relief effort

Pakistan says it will station three helicopters in Afghanistan to deliver supplies to survivors of last month's earthquake.

It agreed to supply the helicopters after aid workers criticised Pakistani officials for demanding fuel, which was needed to deliver aid to survivors.

Aid workers have said that food supplies are piling up in the northern Afghan town of Faizabad, and, with bad weather hampering the relief effort, they need helicopters and fuel to deliver them to the villages affected.
