Saturday, June 6, 1998 Published at 01:38 GMT 02:38 UK World: Americas Bahamas sends Cubans home The authorities in the Bahamas have sent back more than sixty people to Cuba, as part of a new policy aimed at deterring Cubans from seeking refuge on Bahamian territory. The Bahamas has repatriated around two-hundred people in recent weeks, angering Cuban exiles in Miami who've called for a tourist boycott of the islands. The Bahamian government says it cannot cope with hundreds of refugees who arrive every year, often on flimsy boats. Many are tying to get to the United States.
