Transport links between north-eastern India and the rest of the country have been further disrupted, following an attack on a road bridge blamed on separatist Bodo militants.

It was the fifth attack on road and rail bridges in western Assam this week.

The latest attack was in Dhubri, near the Bangladeshi border.

Last month the Indian government turned down a demand by the Bodo tribespeople for a separate homeland in north-eastern India.
