South Korean president holds talks with Kofi Annan

The South Korean President, Kim Dae-jung, on his first state visit to the United States, has held talks with the United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.

Mr Kim is visiting the US to look at ways of improving relations between North and South Korea, and to discuss his country's economic crisis.

He's to hold talks with President Clinton in Washington on Tuesday, and he'll be meeting investors and representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

A large business delegation, led by South Korea's trade minister Park Tae-young is also visiting, trying to attract American investment.
