Guyanese opposition leader alleges electoral fraud

The opposition leader in Guyana, Mr Desmond Hoyte, says he remains dissatisfied over the conduct of last December's elections, won by the party led by Janet Jagan.

In a BBC interview, Mr Hoyte said there were irregularities over matching identity cards with ballots in four regions.

President Jagan has declared that the legitimacy of her government has been established and said the country should move on.

An investigtion by CARICOM officials into alleged fraud in the elections found only minor administrative errors.
