The Tokyo stock market's Nikkei average advanced over 1.5% by the close on Tuesday as the yen's fall against the dollar prompted investors to pick up shares in export-driven manufacturers. Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan Ltd sustained heavy losses during the session amid renewed speculation about the bank's financial health, but the shares mostly recovered after LTCB denied rumours it faced difficulties. The 225-share Nikkei average soared 235.46 points or 1.54% to close at 15,530.17. Nikkei June futures finished 170 points higher at 15,490.
