Guinea to host peace meeting

Reports from Freetown say Guinea has offered to host talks aimed at improving relations between Sierra Leone and neighbouring Liberia.

Both countries have accused the other of offering safe haven to rebel factions.

The reports say that the meeting has been set for Thursday in Conakry.

President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah of Sierra Leone is quoted as welcoming the prospect of a meeting with President Charles Taylor, although there has been no confirmation that the Liberian leader will attend.
