The Taleban authorities in Afghanistan say they've recaptured the town of Gormach in the north-western Badghees province, following an offensive against the forces of General Rashid Dostum.

A senior Taleban spokesman ,Molvi Wakil Ahmad Muttawakiltold the BBC that the Taleban had also captured two-hundred fighters of the Northern Alliance.

There's been no word from the Alliance side about any fighting.
