Japanese Foreign Ministry officials say Japan will recall its ambassador to Pakistan for further discussion on how to deal with Pakistan's nuclear tests.

The Japanese news agency, Kyodo, said the government had been consideringrecalling its ambassador since Pakistan conducted its first test blasts last week.

Japan has already decided to freeze aid to Pakistan for new projects following the tests.
