Talking Point

Do we take football too seriously?

With kick-off for the World cup just days away media outlets around the world are dominated by footballing personalities and football talk.

Is it all just a harmless diversion or does the hype and hysteria do real harm? Why is it that normally sensible people get so worked up when national pride is at stake?

Does all this talk of team selection, flat back fours and sweeper systems turn you on or leave you cold?

Are looking forward to this celebration of the world's most popular game or have you booked a long holiday to get as far away from the action as possible?

What do you think?
