Lebanon and Israel accused of ceasefire violation

The group monitoring the Israeli-Lebanese conflict in south Lebanon has accused both sides of violating a 1996 ceasefire agreement.

The Monitoring Group said Israel's rocket attack on an Arab village on Sunday, in which one civilian was killed, constituted a breach of the agreement.

It also said the firing of mortar rounds by a Lebanese armed group from a civilian area violated the ceasefire.

The agreement prohibits either side from targeting civilians or from firing from civilian areas.
