Indonesia protesters call for Suharto trial

More than two-thousand protesters gathered outside the Indonesian parliament demanding that former President Suharto be put on trial for corruption.

Troops were stationed inside the building, keeping the compound gates closed and denying protesters access.

The demonstration followed calls by the military chief, General Wiranto, for people not to dwell on the country's past, and to focus on economic recovery.

He also said the wave of reform in the country had its limits.
