Violence broke out on the Mullaghmore estate in Omagh, Co Tyrone on Tuesday evening. Crowds threw petrol bombs and missiles at police near to the place where the dismembered body of pregnant teenager Sylvia Fleming was found. The 17-year-old's body was discovered in the foundations of a house being built on Saturday. She had disappeared two months ago. Four people were remanded into custody for four weeks when they appeared in court on Monday charged in connection with her murder. The RUC said no one was seriously hurt in the rioting. One police officer escaped injury as he was wearing protective clothing when a firebomb engulfed him in flames. Two men were arrested by police officers. |
