Brothers Luis and Jesus Amezcua, who were known as the kings of methamphetamines, or speed, were arrested on charges of money-laundering and criminal association. The two men are also wanted in the United States on drug-trafficking charges. An estimated two-thirds of Colombian cocaine smuggled into the US goes through Mexico, which has also become a major production and distribution centre for methamphetamines.
