Venezuelan students' demo turns nasty

Police in Venezuela have clashed with hundreds of student demonstrators in the town of Los Teques, south of the capital Caracas.

At least seven people wereinjured and police made a number of arrests as the students tried to take control of the town hall.

Reports say the students, who were mostly from local secondary schools, were objecting to the breaking of agreements on school transport, and had been joined by more radical and masked protesters.

The town's mayor Freddy Martinez has threatened to call in the National Guard if any more demonstrations in the town turn to violence.
