Pakistan, India criticised for nuclear tests

More than forty member states of the Conference on Disarmament, including the five major nuclear powers, have called on India and Pakistan to stop nuclear testing and renounce their atomic weapons campaigns.

At a specially convened session in Geneva, forty-six countries supported a paper tabled by Australia and New Zealand calling on India and Pakistan to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and the comprehensive nuclear test ban treaty.

The text went on to condemn all nuclear testing.
