Security Council members to discuss nuclear tension

The United States says foreign ministers from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council will meet on Thursday to discuss the nuclear tests by India and Pakistan.

The State Department spokesman, James Rubin, said Washington realised that neither country had responded to the threat of sanctions.

The G-8 group of leading industrial nations will gather for similar talks a few days later.
