Protests for and against Indonesian governor

More than five-hundred Indonesian students on Sulawesi are continuing a protest to demand the resignation of the local provincial governor, appointed by formerPresident Suharto.

They are accusing the governor, Zainal Basri Palaguna, of corruption and nepotism.

The students have been demonstrating outside the legislature buildings in the South Sulawesi capital, Ujungpandang, since Friday.

They are faced by about two-hundred members of a Muslim youth group, who support the governor.
