Spain extradites banker to Mexico

Spain has extradited the fugitive Mexican banker, Angel Rodriguez Saez, to face charges of fraud in his home country.

Spanish police handed him over to their Mexican counterparts at Madrid airport, where he boarded a plane to Mexico City.

Mr Rodriguez Saez, known by his alias, the Divine One, was arrested in Spain two years ago when he tried to flee from Spanish police in his yacht off the island of Ibiza.

His firm, Banpais, was taken over by the regulatory authorities in 1995.
