Sudanese minister says most differences with Egypt over confiscated property resolved

The Irrigation Minister of Sudan, Sharif al-Tuhami, has said that most of the differences stemming from Sudan's confiscation of Egyptian property have been settled.

Speaking after a meeting in Cairo on sharing water from the Nile he said it would take time, but the remaining issues would be resolved.

In March the Sudanese President, Omar al-Bashir, told his government to take steps to return the property, which includes schools, guest houses and the Khartoum branch of Cairo University.

But earlier this month Egypt said that Sudan had broken a promise to hand it back.
