India says diplomat beaten up in Pakistan

The Indian government says one of its officials has been attacked in the Pakistan capital, Islamabad.

A foreign ministry spokesman in Delhi said the official named as B S Rawat had been accosted and badly beaten up in front of his diplomatic residence.

He said such an attack was entirely unacceptable, and the Pakistani High Commissioner in Delhi had been summoned to receive a protest.

There's been no word on the incident from Pakistan.
