Indian president ends Nepal visit

The Indian President, K R Narayanan, has ended a three-day official visit to Nepal -- the first by an Indian president for twelve years.

Nepalese officials said a wide range of issues was discussed and the visit helped to strengthen relations.

A BBC correspondent in Kathmandu says there have been differences between the two countries over a stalled power and irrigation project on the Mahakali riverand over a disputed border territory, Kalapani,.

A high-level business delegation that accompanied President Narayanan also explored the possibility of joint ventures.
