Iran and Turkmenistan keep open border crossings

Iran and Turkmenistan have agreed to keep open on a permanent basis four crossing points on their land border.

Iranian radio said that from June twenty-second the border points of Sarakhs, Lotfabad, Bajgiran and Pol will be kept open on a round-the-clock basis for traffic in goods and passengers.

The radio report said that the move was part of a cooperation agreement signed between the two sides on Friday and follows the recent waiving of visa requirements for Turkmen nationals by Tehran.
