Arafat in UAE to discuss Arab summit

The Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, is in the United Arab Emirates, to discuss ways to revive the Middle East peace process.

He's expected to push for a summit of Arab countries, during talks with the UAE president, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.

Earlier this week, Mr Arafat discussed the idea during talks in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

He told the Cairo-based Arab League that an Arab summit had become a necessity to protect Arab rights and interests.
