Pakistan says that with the tests completed, it will now produce nuclear weapons.

But the Foreign Minister, Gohar Ayub Khan, said they would be entirely defensive.

American intelligence officials said they believe Pakistan may conduct more nuclear tests shortly.

The officials added that a test of Pakistan's medium-range missile the Ghuari is also expected.

The Pakistani government has strongly denied reports that it's preparing to arm long-range missiles with nuclear warheads.
