EU funds to fight Ebola
The European Union has decided to spend more than two-hundred-thousand dollars to fight the outbreak of the deadly Ebola fever in northern Uganda. It said it would also set aside more than four-hundred-and-fifty thousand dollars to help vulnerable and displaced people in the north and west. It says the money will go to the World Health Organisation and other international agencies to combat the spread of the disease. Meanwhile, two more people have died in Gulu where the outbreak began, bringing the number of those killed to 117. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
