Murder suspect 'speculated to friend'
Murder scene, Bridgend
Rebecca Storrs' body was found in a river
A man accused of murdering 18-year-old schoolgirl Rebecca Storrs speculated to a friend why someone may have wanted to kill her, a court was told.

Cardiff Crown Court heard that 33-year-old Marc Shillibier gave Michelle Lamb reasons when asked why somebody would commit murder and rape.

Miss Lamb said Shillibier replied: "Maybe she'd made an earlier pass at them but then said no afterwards and they forced themselves on he anyway."

He said that it was all about power and rejection."

Marc Shillibier: Speculation claim

Shillibier is accused of murdering Ms Storrs after meeting her at a house party then dumping her body in the river.

She was found in the River Ogmore in March 1999 after going to a house party with friends.

She met Shillibier at the party - and the court heard he killed her after she rejected his sexual advances.

Cardiff Crown Court heard how Shillibier committed crimes to feed his drug habit costing more than £40 a day.

"He was always taking drugs. After he had injected amphetamines he got a bit schizophrenic and psychotic," Miss Lamb told the court.

Shillibier, of Bridgend, denies murder.

The trial continues.
