A coroner at an inquest in Merthyr Tydfil has recorded verdicts of accidental death on three men killed in a RTA in April.

Terry Waters, 22, his uncle Wayne Morgan, 28, and friend Paul Simons, 18, were killed in an accident on the A470 at Merthyr Tydfil last April.

The accident is believed to have happened after the Vauxhall Astra overtook another car and left the carriageway before colliding with a tree.

Two teenage girls, Tanya Price and Kelly Lewis, were also in the car.

They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The H-registration Vauxhall Astra was stolen from Gellideg in Merthyr Tydfil on Wednesday evening.

Buried side by side

The accident happened five hours later.

All the victims were understood to have been friends who lived within one mile of each other.

Mr Morgan and his nephew were buried side by side at the parish cemetery at a service attended by hundreds of mourners.

The accident happened just one month after local police staged a hard-hitting campaign to highlight the dangers of car theft.

It is believed to have happened after the Astra overtook another car and left the carriageway before colliding with a tree.
