Akihito meets fish experts

On the final day of his state visit to Britain, Emperor Akihito of Japan has been discussing the subject he spends much of his time studying -- the classification of a species of small fish known as the Gobi.

Emperor Akihito met British experts on the Gobi during a visit to an academic society founded in London more than two-hundred years ago to promote the science of natural history the Linnean Society.

One of the experts, Professor Peter Miller of Bristol university, said the papers published by Emperor Akihito on the Gobi had been exceptionally useful.
