Putin holds talks with Nazarbayev

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, says Russia and Kazakhstan are now ready to start implementing agreements they signed earlier this year.

Speaking after talks with his Kazakh counterpart, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Mr Putin said discussions focused on a number of issues, including building up co-operation in the disputed Caspian Sea.

He said they also talked about measures to create an anti-terrorist centre for the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Mr Nazarbayev was in Moscow for a one-day visit.
