Latest in wave of Colombian attacks

One person has died and at least six more have been injured in two explosions in the Colombian city of Cali.

The incidents took place almost simultaneously -- late on Tuesday night -- when a car bomb exploded on a city centre street killing the driver of the vehicle.

Another smaller device went off at a police station in the east of the city injuring at least one officer.

Military officials in Bogota say the second largest rebel group -- the left wing National Liberation Army -- is suspected of being behind the explosions.

The offensives are the latest in a two-week wave of attacks in the Cali area which have resulted in two deaths and more than twenty people being injured.
