India plucks a feathered 'spy'

Indian security officials say they've captured a falcon fitted with electronic devices on the border with Pakistan - and say they believed it was trained by the Pakistanis for use in espionage.

A spokesman told Reuters news agency that the bird was nabbed near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan after being lured with food.

It had been fitted with what appeared to be a radio transmitter and an antenna, which could have been used to monitor Indian border installations.

There's been no word from the Pakistani side.
