US ballots turn up in Denmark

A Danish couple were taken by surprise when two absentee ballots from the American presidential election turned up in their mail.

The ballots were discovered in an envelope containing information ordered via the internet, from a company based in the US state of Washington.

The manager of the company said he had no idea how the mix-up had occured.

The US embassy in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, has not yet decided what to do with the ballots, but said they were not valid because counting in Washington state had already been completed.
