Indian cricket report due next week

CRICKET: The official appointed by the Indian cricket authorities to investigate allegations of corruption, K Madhavan, has said he will submit his report next week.

He said the Indian Cricket board would discuss the report in Calcutta at the end of the month.

Mr Madhavan was speaking to the media in Hyderabad, where he had questioned the former captain, Mohammed Azharuddin.

Mr Madhavan declined to disclose details of their talks, which took place amid tight security.

Azharuddin was one of five players accused in a recent Indian police report into corruption.
