Thirty-five die in collision

At least thirty-five people were killed when two passenger buses crashed into each other in Khanewal in the Pakistani province of Punjab four hundred kilometres south of Lahore.

Police say twenty people died immediately in the head-on collision, with fifteen others succumbing to their injuries later.

Four passengers, who were seriously injured, are being treated in hospital.

Bus accidents are common in Pakistan and are often blamed on reckless driving.
