Police described the heroin find as "significant"
Three men have appeared in court on charges relating to the seizure of £1m worth of heroin at the weekend.

Thomas Glen, 36, from Henderson Avenue in Belfast, Harold Ashton, also 36, from Knocknagoney Park in Belfast, and Samuel Stalford, a 31-year-old from Rosemount Park in Jordanstown, were before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday.

They were each charged with possession of a Class A drug.

The three men were also charged with possessing heroin with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug to another.

Bail applications for each of the three men were refused.

The charges follow the discovery of heroin with a street value of £1m in Belfast at the weekend.
