Russia hijack to Israel over

The hijacking of a Russian plane to Israel has ended peacefully, with the aircraft's fifty passengers and crew being flown to Moscow.

The hijacker -- who was described by Russian officials as mentally unbalanced -- was extradited on board another Russian plane.

The man, from the Russian Caucasus, seized the plane during a domestic flight from Dagestan to Moscow, and surrendered to Israeli officials when it landed.

His motives remain unclear.
