Radiohead's phenomenal run of success has continued with two prestigious awards for their songwriting.
The band won best song of 1997 for Paranoid Android, and best contemporary song for Karma Police.
The lead singer of Wigan-band The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, was named Songwriter of the Year, at the Ivor Novello awards, held in London.
Sir Elton John was honoured for his Diana, Princess of Wales, tribute song, Candle In The Wind 1997, which became the biggest-selling single of all time.

He was presented with a special Silver Ivor trophy along with his co-writer, lyricist Bernie Taupin, at the awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
Picture of You, co-written for the film Bean by Boyzone's Ronan Keating, was awarded Best Original Song for a Film or Broadcast.
Anne Dudley, who won an Oscar for her music to The Full Monty, missed out on the Best Original Music for a Broadcast award to Christopher Gunning who wrote the music for TV's Rebecca.

Other winners included the film Romeo and Juliet winning the Best Original Film Score and Olive's You're Not Alone being voted the Best Dance Music.
Sharleen Spiteri and John McElhone of Scottish band Texas were commended for the Best Song Collection, Morrissey was presented with an Outstanding Contribution to British Music award and Richard Ashcroft of The Verve was Songwriter of the Year.
The International Achievement award was won by Enya, Nicky Ryan and Roma Ryan.
Sting's I'll Be Missing You (Every Breath You Take), performed
