Islamic leaders slate Israel

Islamic heads of state meeting in Qatar 's capital, Doha, have called for stronger action in defence of the Palestinians.

The Iranian president Mohammed Khatami said Israel must be punished for the killings.

A BBC correspondent in Qatar says calls for tough measures against Israel are likely to go unheeded - a draft communique has already been toned down.
