Grampian Police have charged a man in connection with a message posted on Aberdeen Football Club's official website.

Comments about two Rangers fans who died in a road accident appeared on the site on Monday.

The club removed the comments and asked Grampian Police to investigate.

The force said on Sunday that a 26-year-old man from the Aberdeen area has been charged with breach of the peace.

He is being reported to the procurator fiscal.

Minibus crash

Aberdeen Football Club has also indicated it will carry out a threat to have the chat section of its website removed.

Two Rangers fans died following a minibus crash on the M6, near Carlisle.

Roy Baxter, 34, of Bromborough, Wirral, died at the scene of the accident.

Another man died later in hospital.

The bus carrying 10 Rangers supporters was on its way back to Merseyside on Saturday, 4 November when it hit the central reservation and collided with two cars.

The group, including a four-year-old boy and two 14-year-olds, had travelled to watch Rangers defeat St Mirren 7-1.
