Yorkshire will meet Essex at home while Leicestershire will take on Surrey at Grace Road. Both games will be played on June 9, with June 10 set aside as a reserve day. Hero Hollioake In the quarter-finals, Surrey completed a rain-affected triumph over Lancashire by five wickets at The Oval, with captain Adam Hollioake leading from the front. Resuming at 35-0 chasing 204 for victory, openers Alec Stewart and Ally Brown moved along comfortably against the visiting attack. But Brown was bowled for 41 by off-spinner Gary Yates, and Surrey looked in difficulties for a time as they slipped to 110-4. But Hollioake steadied the ship with 39 not out as Surrey eased home with more than four overs to spare. Cowan goes nap Essex also completed a rain-hit quarter-final win, as Middlesex made 224-7 in reply to the visitors' 232-9 at Lord's. England paceman Ashley Cowan was the hero, taking the top five Middlesex batsmen to scupper the chase. His scalps included Justin Langer (71) and Owais Shah (43), who shared a fourth wicket stand of 108. Maddy makes merry In the previous day's action, Leicestershire beat Kent by eight wickets to go through to the semi-final with an unbeaten 93 from Darren Maddy, and Phil Simmons' five for 33. Leicester bowled Kent out for just 158, with Carl Hooper top scoring with 60.
The Tykes made an appalling start, slumping to two for two, losing Anthony McGrath and skipper David Byas who both failed to score. But Lehmann then hit 119 and Michael Vaughan got 70 as Yorkshire went on to amass 269 for five in their 50 overs. Lehmann then took two for 27 in four overs as Durham were dismissed for 167, including the wicket of Paul Collingwood who was the visitors' top scorer with 39.
