The statement adds that Pakistan has been receiving information since the Indian nuclear tests that there is a possibility of an attack on its nuclear installations. The Indian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Office and was told that if India carried out an attack, it would invite massive retaliation. The UN Secretary-General has also been briefed in this connection, and he has been urged to direct India to exercise restraint.
