Oklahoma bomb case man gets twelve years

In the United States, a key prosecution witness in the Oklahoma City bombing case has been sentenced to twelve years in prison.

The man, Michael Fortier, was friendly with the two who carried out the bombing Timoth McVeigh and Terry Nichols, and knew about their plan to blow up the Oklahoma Federal Building, but did nothing to warn anyone about it.

One-hundred-and-sixty-eight people died in the explosion, three years ago.

Fortier's lawyers had argued that he should be treated leniently because his evidence had helped convict the men responsible.
