Share prices around the world

Share prices have been falling on stock markets around the world -- Asia led the trend earlier in the day with falls of up to five per cent in South Korea and Hong Kong.

The trend continued across Europe and on Wall Street, although declines were not so great as in Asia.

Experts have been attributing the fall to a variety of reasons -- including fresh concerns about the Asian economies as well as US investors switching their money into safer government stocks.
