The right-wing party which came first in the Hungarian elections last weekend has said it will reverse an agreement with Slovakia, to build a hydro-electric dam on the River Danube.
The dam, first agreed by the former communist governments but which sparked environmental protests in Hungary, was due to be completed in line with an international court ruling last year.
But the Civic Party, which is trying to form a coalition government, says Hungary is not obliged to build the dam.
The party is also joining the Austrian government in opposing plans for a nuclear power plant at Mochovce in Slovakia.
