The joint presidency of Bosnia-Hercegovina, which is made up of Bosnian Muslim, Croat and Serb representatives, has agreed to wind up the national bank inherited from before the Yugoslav conflict.
In its place is a new central bank, which was set up in August last year as part of the Dayton peace accords.
Bank officials in Sarajevo say the move is a step towards the introduction of a new convertible currency, the mark, in mid-June.
