Lewinsky ordered fingerprinted

Reports from Washington say the independent prosecutor, Kenneth Starr, has ordered the former White House worker, Monica Lewinsky, to provide her fingerprints, as well as samples of her voice and handwriting, as part of investigations into an alleged sex scandal.

Prosecutors are investigating whether Miss Lewinsky and President Clinton had a sexual relationship at the White House and then illegally conspired to cover it up including lying under oath.

Mr Starr's move comes after Miss Lewinsky lost a court battle to secure immunity from prosecution, and correspondents say it's a sign he's stepping up the pressure on both Miss Lewinsky and Mr Clinton.

Members of Miss Lewinksy's family said they were confident she'd cooperate with Mr Starr's latest order.
