Seven killed in prison riot in Venezuela

Officials in Venezuela say seven prisoners were killed and four injured in a riot at the San Juan de los Morros jail in Guárico state.

The Interior secretary secretario de Gobernacionof Guárico state Alberto Gonzalez said the situation was now under control.

Venezuela's jails are among the most overcrowded and violent in Latin America.

Last year more than three hundred inmates were killed in prison unrest.
