Busy week for Emperor
Wednesday:

Fly to Cardiff Castle with Prince Charles where they will meet Welsh people from 54 Japanese firms that employ local people.

They will later leave to the strains of "we'll keep a welcome in the hillsides".

Then back to Heathrow for evening banquet with Lord Mayor of London at the Guildhall.

Thursday:

Visit to Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, west London, where they will view Japanese landscape area.

Lunch at 10 Downing Street with Tony Blair and invited guests, followed by visit to the Royal Society for Advancement of Science with Prince Philip.

Return banquet for the Queen hosted by Emperor at the V & A Museum.

Friday:

The couple will officially take leave of the Queen before separate visits in London.

The Emperor will go to the Linnean Society, followed by the Zoological Society (he is a marine biologist). The Empress will meanwhile visit the British Red Cross Society.

At lunchtime they are both due to visit the Grosvenor House Hotel for a reception given by the Japan Society.

Official visit ends.
